Marc Baumann is an Internet Marketing Professional, Organic SEO Expert, Search Engine Optimization Analyst, Blog Coach and Writer with a background in interactive and print media in the United Staates and Europe.

He recently joined Los Angeles based internet marketing agency WebMetro as SEO Analyst, helping clients to identify deficiencies of their web presence, analyze their site’s architecture, usability and search engine performance and improve their online visibility, internet traffic and sales.

Before joining WebMetro, he was the operator and founder of MaxTheWeb.com, a Los Angeles based SEO consulting and blog consulting firm, providing search engine optimization, content writing/optimization, blog consulting, translation and German SEO services to businesses for over two years.

Prior to his position as Internet Consultant, Marc Baumann has worked as a SEO Operations Specialist at Shopzilla/Bizrate, one of the world’s largest shopping search engines. In this position, he he analyzed and optimized the company’s web properties in the U.S. and Germany (Shopzilla.com, Shopzilla.de / Bizrate.com / SparDeinGeld.de) to achieve more organic search engine traffic. He wrote and edited keyword-rich content and meta information, developed link building and keyword strategies and compiled weekly progress reports. Additionally, he wrote and managed daily blog posts and engaged in various social media optimization practices.

While Marc Baumann’s position at Shopzilla helped him to expand his knowledge in Search engine optimization, it was his employment at youth entertainment site Neopets which sparked his enthusiasm for online marketing. In his position as Web Editor, Marc Baumann was not only responsible for editing and quality control of content, but also helped to develop and implement the company’s branding keyword strategy for the German market.

Marc Baumann’s 13 years internet experience has its roots in his professional background in journalism. As a US West coast correspondent for various European newspapers (i.e. Financial Times Germany), he contributed numerous articles about news and trends in information technology, new media and e-commerce (including the burst of the internet bubble in 2001). In the late nineties, Baumann managed the website of Switzerland’s largest business magazine, Bilanz.ch, and assisted in the launch of numerous other websites and new portals.

Baumann graduated in Business Economics at the University of Zurich (Switzerland), studied at the University of Cambridge (English) and UC Santa Barbara (communications & journalism) and holds a certificate for Advanced Search Marketing Skills from the Search Engine Academy in Los Angeles.
